Keeping Traditions Farm News August 2014

On August 22, 2014, in News, by tina

Its hard to believe August is almost over – its been a long summer and a big job — but were are finally moved into our new farm home.  The rabbits and chickens were easy to move over, they adjusted well to the new surrounding.  The day we moved the big animals we were worried how stressed they would get. It turned out the humans were the ones stressed, the goats had a great time. Here you see Mary looking out the window, enjoying the breeze on moving day.

We have had to come up with some “creative shelter” for our livestock to get them to the new farm and settled in for now.  Plans of a pole barn will be in the future.

Its been never ending on unpacking of boxes, with still plenty to do yet – but I made a spot in the corner so I could start working on fiber again.

We are seeing wildlife on a daily basis. Early morning the deer are visiting in the backyard. I took a picture of a doe and her fawns to share.

The turkeys seems to follow after the deer  – it can be entertaining to watch.

I will be working on more fiber products now and adding new listings to the etsy shop, and getting ready for fiber expo in Oct – Ann Arbor, MI. As always if their is anything angora you are interested in just contact me. Thank you for visiting.
